Happy New Year everyone! I hope that January finds you all in good health.

I am very pleased to announce that as part of our drive to support the community’s journey in this 21st century disease-filled landscape, we’ve created an exciting six month calendar of activities designed to help improve your knowledge and skills to be able to support a life full of health and vitality.

We are kicking-off the year with a Nutrition 101: Food as Medicine lecture this January 24, 2019 at 6pm at the LifeScience Center for Health and Wellness. As of this post, the details can be found on our Facebook Page and our Instagram Page!

For the month of February we’re starting our newest program which is a free-to-sign-up Group Nutrition and Lifestyle Class. This program lasts 3 months and will be meeting once a month engaging myself and our Functional Medicine health coach Roanna in order to achieve individualized nutrition and health goals within the 3-month time frame. The program is free and has as its only requirement the willingness to invest time and effort into attending each session and to follow through on the goals set at the beginning. This is a great time to have a first-hand understanding of what Functional Medicine and Functional Nutrition entailing individual and group sessions with me to enable the most sustainable health changes. In the same month of February, we will also hold as part of our monthly lectures an Eating and Growing Old Healthy Together. Come with your significant other as we raid a grocery store and analyze how to best weed out the ingredients that we like and don’t like. Each team will be tasked to purchase items to create a whole-food recipe which they can create as a team when they return home.

For March we have Nutrition 102: Energy where we take the concept of food and turn it into cellular and biochemical energy. This lecture will tackle the controversial concept of the ketogenic diet and how we can best augment it to fit a balanced nutrition concept of nutrition.

In April we will dive into a Nutritional Update of the World of Neurodevelopmental Conditions like autism and ADHD; and how advances in nutrition continues to play a key role in its assessment and treatment.

For May we will revisit the Elimination Diet and once again share how this simple nutrition program allows the body to heal despite multiple chronic issues.

Finally in June we will have the second run of our Group Nutrition and Lifestyle Class. We hope to build upon the initial group’s momentum and support a second group to make the health changes that are needed for improved health and wellbeing.

Through these activities we hope to awaken you to what 21st century health and wellbeing truly are.
